I was born in Dresden, Germany, in 1927 and moved to Denmark in 1934. My father was American and my mother was Danish. After taking the General Certificate, I studied biology for 5 years at the University of Copenhagen but left the study and became a schoolteacher. Later I graduated in music education at the Academy of Music in Aalborg (subjects theory and history) and for a year (1964-65), I studied music at the Humboldt University in East Berlin.

Since 1959, I was a member of the Danish Communist Party with a special interest in peace and cultural questions. For many years, I was (honorary) member of the cultural staff of the communist newspaper Land og Folk.

Worked for some years with the Brecht-trio together with Jĝrgen Münster (clarinet) and Allan Karlsson (accordeon)

Since I retired at an early age of 60, I have specially been interested in philosophical and theoretical issues, writing feature articles, essays etc. and the books Formale und generative Dialektik (2006) and (in Danish) Who are we in a world of goods and money? - or: Inquisitive George in action (2008).

I spend quite some time of the year in my holiday cottage in Blokhus, Northern Jutland.
